Shemar Stewart is a professional American football defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals. The 17th overall pick from the 2025 NFL draft played college football at Texas A&M University from 2022 to 2024. After completing his collegiate career, he announced his entry into the 2025 NFL Draft via his Instagram account, @jumpboy.marr. A Miami, Florida, native, Stewart attended Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens. During his sophomore year, Stewart recorded 48 tackles and 15 sacks. A five-star prospect, he was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 9 overall prospect and the No. 3 defensive lineman in the 2022 class.

Stewart played 37 games for the Texas A&M Aggies between 2022 and 2024, recording 65 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. Sports Reference noted his consistent production, noting he registered at least 1.5 sacks and 2 tackles for loss in his three seasons with the Aggies.

Shemar Stewart's parents are Latoya Smith and Brandon Marquez. Stewart, in an interview with the Miami Herald, talked about his parents, saying that his father lives in Jamaica, while he was brought up by his mother in Miramar, Florida. Stewart is also very close to his grandmother, who lives in North Miami. Stewart has thanked them for influencing his decision to commit to Texas A&M over the Miami Hurricanes, his initial preference as per the official Aggies website.

“My parents didn’t want me to stay at home at all,” he explained. “It’s Miami, you know. The nightlife can get pretty distracting. Trying to keep my head on straight.” (via the official Aggies website)
